Cristine Pedersen is a recent graduate of the MSFS program at Georgetown University and a Marine Corps veteran. Cristine served as an Arabic linguist for five years and deployed to the Horn of Africa where she supported counterterrorism operations. Upon leaving the military, Cristine pivoted to a career focused on humanitarian and diplomatic responses to conflict with a focus on the protection of civilians. She currently consults for the Center for Civilians in Conflict. Cristine is a Harry S. Truman scholar, a Pat Tillman scholar, and a member of the Truman National Security Project’s Defense Council. Cristine has been published in the New York Times At War column as well as with Georgetown’s Institute for Women, Peace, and Security.
