Jake Brooke is a contractor in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor within the Office of East Asian & Pacific Affairs. In his capacity, Jake has worked on monitoring human rights developments across the East Asia region, with a particular focus on China and Myanmar. He has also actively spearheaded efforts to assist and protect asylum seekers and human rights defenders. Jake is a graduate student at Johns Hopkins SAIS where he is pursuing a Master of Arts in International Relations. He also serves as an Ordnance Officer within the Army National Guard. Jake holds a B.A. in Political Science from The George Washington University. He currently resides in Arlington and is proud to call Virginia home.
