Mr. Zagurski serves as the Director of the Talent Management Strategy Group (TMX), and as a Senior Advisor for Modernization and Force Development for Headquarters Marine Corps.
Mr. Zagurski is a retired Marine who served 31 years on Active Duty as an Infantry Officer. His previous assignments include Commanding Officer Marine Barracks Washington, Director of the Chairman’s Action Group and Special Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Readiness Analyst – Office of the Secretary of Defense, Director of Policy and Standards – Training and Education Command, Branch Head for Officer Assignments, and Deputy Director of Manpower Management.
Mr. Zagurski’s operating force assignments include command of infantry units at the platoon, company, and battalion level. He has served in 1st Battalion 3rd Marines, 1st Battalion 8th Marines, 1st Battalion 9th Marines, 2nd Marine Division, and 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. Mr. Zagurski commanded 1st Battalion 9th Marines during their combat deployment to Helmand Province Afghanistan in 2011. He has additional combat tours in Iraq and participated in the evacuation of American Citizens from Southern Lebanon in 2006.
Mr. Zagurski’s additional assignments include Budget Officer for Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Commanding Officer of Small Craft Company, Executive Officer Headquarters Battalion 2d Marine Division, and Plans Officer for Marine Forces Europe. Mr. Zagurski is a graduate of The Basic School, Infantry Officer’s Course, Financial Management Officer’s Course, Advanced Infantry Officer’s Course, the Naval War College (highest distinction), School of Advanced Warfighting, and the National War College (distinguished graduate).
